Mik & Elliot : Piha Engagement shoot.

When I tell you that these two are legit some of the dopest peeps you will ever see, I ain’t exaggerating. When we caught up at their initial wedding consultation / meet and greet, they insisted they come out to Piha to meet me. “We’ll bring the bike out for a ride” they told me. And it was at that moment I knew, these guys were next level.

Most would have to try to be this cool, but for Mik and Elliot, it’s effortless. They rocked up to meet me at the South carpark, head to toe in their bikers leathers with combat boots and Mik’s long hair whipping out from under a blacked out helmet. The kind of entrance you imagine in a movie when the “cool kids” rock up. But they also happen to be the sweetest and loveliest humans ever. We ate tacos and I obsessed over them for a solid hour that we spent chatting (still obsessed with them even now tbh).

For their Engagement Session I received an email from Mik asking if it’d be okay if they brought out Elliots Ford Escort for a few pics as well. Of course I replied back “YESSS!!!!!” - though with probably eve more exclamation points. I LOVE when couples bring out things of sentiment to them, especially when its a burgundy red classic car. Made for some of my favourite pics here in Piha that I’ve ever captured and also got a fair few toots from some fellow locals who were more than happy to park up and admire it as we blocked the road for some pics!

I cant wait to document these lovers tie the knot come March! xx
